Our Privacy Policy

The Great American Train Company ("GATC") respects the privacy of users of www.greatamericantrain.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Statement discloses how we collect and use information on the Site, and the choices that you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

Portions of the Site permit users to contact GATC with requests for information regarding our products and services. For example, GATC uses information collected on various pages of the Site to respond to a user's request for technical support, to provide product literature, or to register a user's GATC product via our web site. GATC may also use this information to contact users in the future with respect to promotional offers regarding products we think may be of interest. Sale of Information / Assets
Generally, GATC does not share user information with third parties. In the event, however, that GATC sells or acquires business assets or concerns, in whole or in part, GATC may transfer user information in conjunction with such sale or acquisition.

Cookies/IP Addresses
Cookies are small files stored by your web browser to help keep track of your user profile. The Site uses cookies to remember a user's personal profile for the user's convenience and to deliver content specific to a user's needs and interests. GATC also uses cookies to track user trends and improve the Site for all users. GATC's cookies do not collect personally identifiable information, and are not shared with third parties.

GATC may collect and use users' Internet Protocol or "IP" Addresses and other site usage data to gather broad demographic information. This data helps GATC serve you by allowing GATC to understand how visitors use the Site. GATC generally does not use IP addresses to identify a user. GATC, however, can and will use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with the Site's Terms of Use or to protect our service, the Site, our customers or others, or in response to requests or subpoenas by law-enforcement authorities.

The Site provides users who have requested information from GATC the opportunity to opt-out of receiving future communications from us. If you do not wish to receive future communications from us, please e-mail your request to opt-out@greatamericantrain.com

3. Access/Correction of Your Information

Often, GATC will not retain personal data it has collected from its users via the Site. Nevertheless, you may request access to any data about you that GATC has collected and stored by sending a request to webmaster@greatamericantrain.com. If you believe that an error has been made in the accuracy of the data collected from you, you may request that the information be corrected by sending a request to the addresses below. GATC will correct the error upon adequate verification of the error and the identity of the person seeking the correction. In order to protect your privacy and security, we may need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

4. Integrity/Security of the Data Collected

The Site is not a secure web site. GATC cannot and does not ensure or warrant the security of any information collected by us, transmitted over the Internet, or maintained in your user profile. You agree that any data transmission you make or receive through the Site is at your own risk.

Children and Privacy
The Site is not intended for use by children. GATC encourages parents and guardians to be familiar with the web sites that their children visit. The Federal Trade Commission ("FTC") regulates the means by which web site operators collect and use personal information from children under 13, pursuant to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (the "Act"). The Site may contain links to other web sites. Each of these linked web sites maintains its own independent privacy policies. GATC does not control and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of those web sites. When you leave the Site and access the web sites of third parties, the privacy policies of the parties maintaining those web sites apply.

Disclaimer of Liability
Under no circumstances shall GATC be liable for any damages, including, but not limited to, special, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages that result from the use of the information or materials posted to or collected as a result of the user accessing the Site, even if GATC has been advised of the possibility of such damages. This and the other sections in this Privacy Statement should be read in conjunction with and are subject to the Terms of Use.
